A tournament for players of all standards! Entry closes 10:00 a.m. on Sunday 14th July

The 2024 West Open will be played from Sunday 28th July to Saturday 3rd August at the Western and Hillhead clubs in Glasgow. Both clubs have six artificial clay courts.

This season the West Open and the West Junior Open have amalgamated to provide an opportunity for ‘older’ juniors to compete through the day in their junior age group events as well as playing in the open championship singles and doubles events. Tennis West of Scotland is delighted that Glasgow City Plumbers will be the tournament main sponsor.

The Men’s & Women’s Singles are part of the Tennis Scotland Open Tour with £1,000 prize money for each of this year’s singles champions. Championship doubles events also offer significant prize money. Check the prize money attachment for details.

Main draw singles matches will start midweek with qualifying rounds starting on Sunday 28th July. Details of event dates can be found on the online fact sheet. Caffe Parma, the on-site restaurant at Western, will provide meal vouchers to all main draw singles competitors whilst they remain in the draw. At Hillhead, Café Source will be open to provide food and drinks.

As is traditional at the West Open, there will be singles and doubles shield events so every competitor is assured of at least two matches in any event.

For those players whose tennis is still developing but not quite reached championship standard, handicapped men’s and women’s singles events are offered. These events proved very popular in 2023. Check out the entry criteria online within the fact sheet.

Finally, new for 2024 is the introduction of singles and doubles events for 40 & Over players (born in 1984 or before). The singles events will run throughout the tournament week however the 40 & Over doubles events will be ‘timed’ and played to a conclusion on the same day.

Junior age group singles from 8 & Under to 18 & Under will be played throughout the week starting on Sunday 28th and finishing on Saturday 3rd August. For exact dates of each age group, please check online.

The 2024 West Open promises to be a great event and will be fully supported by both clubs and their members who will welcome players from near and far.

Online entries are currently being accepted with a closing deadline of 10:00 am on Sunday 14th July. Entry link at top.
