Team Tennis Season 2021
The club are currently planning for the Spring/Summer Tennis season which we have to presume will go ahead as usual.
The club enter many teams (Mini, Junior, Adult and Vets) into Leagues and Competitions throughout the year. There are two seasons of activity Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter.
We try to give as many members as we can competitive opportunities and the chance to represent the club. We still hope that the majority of these activities will go ahead albeit we may have some new restrictions to work around.
Junior and Mini Leagues
The forthcoming junior and mini leagues start in May and run through to the end of June. We would love as many of our junior and mini members to be part of these teams as possible. Below is a rough guide on when each age group play.
8U Saturdays Indoors at Newlands at a time slot tbc between 11-3pm
9U Wednesdays after school at home and away clubs
10U Fridays after school at home and away clubs
Yellow Weekend fixtures at home and away clubs
Yellow Ball players can compete in their own age group and where possible the age group above.
To assist with the planning process, please could I request that any player that wishes to be considered for selection into the Junior and Mini teams emails me by return before Wednesday March 24th.
The intention is to host a parents meeting in April where team tennis will be one of the topics covered and we will give out more information.
These teams cannot run without the help of parents. A captain is needed for each team. If you would be interested in helping this year with your child’s team please include this in your reply.
