Hi Newlands!
My name is Ruth and DropshotGlasgow is my new venture at Newlands LTC.
A bit about me...I grew up on the west coast..Tarbert, Loch Fyne. My family had a scallop farming business, so I have a love of seafood! Glasgow has been home for 20 years!
My wife and I have a 1 year old son...Uist...he has kept us busy this past year but the time has come to run my own business.
I started off in London and trained at Westminster College. I worked in Scott's of London for 4 years and for Angela Hartnett at her Michelin Star restaurant Murano.
Moving back to Glasgow I was the head chef of the brasserie at the Ubiquitous chip and helped set up the new premises of Cafe Strangebrew.
2018 I took a sabbatical and spent 5 months as a chef on a tall ship sailing Cuba, Bahamas and crossing the Atlantic. Returning home to be a private chef for 10 on board a 72ft private motor yacht sailing the Inner and Outer Hebrides.
So there it is...my cv and a wee hello from me saying that I look forward to meeting you all.
Looking forward to catering brunch for the Club and hopefully I will in the future have some supper clubs in the evenings at the Club.
