TGA have seen pupil numbers grow at the Newlands campuses, which has meant that it is no longer financially viable for TGA to continue to provide complimentary Mini membership at NLTC.
Those pupils who use the facilities are now required to join Newlands LTC as a Mini member at a cost of £60 for the period from 1 October 2023 to 31st March 2024. (The annual cost from 1st April 23 to 31st March 24 is £120).
Please contact NLTC reception on 0141 632 1742 to make payment or call in to the Club in person.
With regards to any questions around the decision to change the membership position for pupils of TGA, we would suggest you pick up directly with TGA as this was ultimately their decision. We are aware that pupil numbers have increased with the success of the TGA Newlands Campus, but this is something that would be best discussed directly between yourself and TGA.
Regarding the timing of the request for membership payment, we would note that the parents of mini-members from TGA have had uninterrupted access to the facilities and classes since the end of the school year in the summer. Due to NLTC only being made aware of this change after the new school year had started, we decided that it would be appropriate to not look for payment for the 3 month period July-September. However, as a Committee we are obliged to act in the interests of all members and as such the view was that we cannot be offering more than 3 months of discounted membership.
