We are delighted to announce that our new Padel Tennis courts will open to members on Friday 14th June with non-members able to book with effect from Monday 24th June. This phased approach will give us a chance to test the booking system before opening to the public.
Bookings open today. How can I book?
We are using the Clubspark booking system for Padel court and equipment hire bookings. Existing tennis and squash court bookings will remain on the MyCourts platform. (The Padel courts’ security gate was not compatible with MyCourts so at this stage we will be using Clubspark).
Playing members with an LTA account can head straight to our website https://clubspark.lta.org.uk/NewlandsLTC/Booking/BookByDate#?date=2024-06-13&role=guest and book courts using their LTA login.
Playing members who do not have an LTA account will have received an email from us today with an invitation to register with the LTA to enable them to book courts through our website via Clubspark. We will also email members with a step by step guide to help with this process.
If non-playing members wish to change their membership category, please contact reception to do so.
Padel courts must only be booked and paid for through the online Clubspark platform. Bookings cannot be made via Club reception staff.
What are the opening hours of the Padel courts?
The Padel courts will be open from 8am -10pm, 7 days a week, with bookings available on the hour. For the initial trial period, the booking time per court will be restricted to one hour.
How much does it cost to book ?
The court booking fee for members is a flat fee of £10 per court per hour (ie £2.50 per person if all 4 players are members). This will be subject to review once demand is assessed.
Where members wish to book and sign in guests, the member will pay £10 for the court booking plus an additional £5 per guest. Initially, there will be no restriction on the number of guests a member can sign in. This will only apply to Padel Tennis and the current guest playing rules for tennis and squash remain.
The price for non-members is £28 per court per hour.
When can I book a Padel court?
A member can book courts online up to 2 weeks in advance. Non-members will be permitted to book courts online 1 week in advance.
What if I need to cancel a booking?
You can cancel a booking online with a full refund up to 48 hours before your booking start time.
Can junior members book Padel courts?
Any junior members who wish to book Padel courts, please contact reception in the first instance.
How will players access the Padel courts?
You will receive a 4 digit access code in your booking confirmation for the security gate entry to the courts. The code will function during your booking slot and for a few minutes before and after that time.
How do the floodlights operate?
The floodlights will come on automatically for your booking regardless of the time of day.
The green curtain around the Padel courts opens in certain areas but due to the mechanism being easily damaged must only be opened and closed by Clubhouse staff.
Can I hire equipment?
Padel rackets and balls can be hired at a cost of £5 per person via the Clubspark booking system. You must first book your court and then book your equipment separately. Padel rackets and balls are to be signed in and out from reception during the day and from the bar in the evening. Please make sure you return all hire equipment.

How can I learn the rules of Padel tennis?
We are aware that many members will not know the rules or tactics of playing Padel so we will be offering free taster sessions for members. These sessions will be taken by Matt, Mark, Jen and Caitlin with 8 players per session. Each session will be 30 minutes. Details of the free sessions can be viewed and booked via our website under the Coaching tab https://clubspark.lta.org.uk/NewlandsLTC/Coaching (please scroll down to bottom of page and click on week commencing 17th June).
It is our intention to run these taster sessions for 2-3 weeks, but we will consider extending this if there is sufficient demand. We would ask members to respect this free offer by only booking in for one taster session.
Will there be Padel coaching and other events run by the club?
Padel coaching, box leagues and social events will all be offered at a future date. We intend to create a Padel WhatsApp group in the near future for those interested in arranging games against other club members.
