Dear Member,
We are delighted that the Summer Tennis Season starts this Monday with over 30 Newlands teams – both adult and junior, competing in leagues and competitions.
The courts will be busy during this time so please book in advance and please could everyone adhere to the 1 hour booking rule to allow as many members as possible the opportunity to play. We do hope to relax this rule and will monitor court usage over the next few weeks.
We can also confirm that the Indoor Courts open from Monday and will be available to book from 7pm this evening . All courts are available for play 8am – 10pm.
The indoor courts will be free of charge during the months of April, May and June. Any MyCourts court credit can be used from July onwards.
We will have teams competing most evenings and we would love if members came down to support. With the weather getting nicer and the beer garden and bar reopening it’s a great opportunity to have a drink whilst watching some great matches. Our Ladies 1st team play on a Tuesday and our Gents 1st, 2nd and 3rd teams play on a Friday. These teams are in the top leagues and the play is of a terrific standard. A full list of fixtures can be found on our website and also on the club noticeboard. We will update members on how teams are getting on each week via social media. Any members that showed an interest in playing in the teams will now be in team pools. Your team captain will be in touch with dates of fixtures and more information. If you are a new member who would like to get involved, please contact reception.
Match practices will stop during match season and will resume after the summer holidays. Thank you to everyone who attended these. It was great to see so many of you on court.
