Club Update - 20th April 2022

We have now rented out the old West office to 3 businesses who share the space and specialise in IT consultancy, online recruitment and corporate training.

Also our small gym will now be rented and used by Gail Penman. Gail is a PT who specialises in older mobility. This means we have 2 new income streams for the Club. Members can still use the small gym as usual.

We are delighted to introduce a NEW Friday yoga class on Friday 22nd April with Victoria of Vie Yoga. There will be an introductory rate of £5 per class on Friday 22nd April and Friday 29th April. You can come to one or both! There will be a different focus for the class each month therafter and classes will be available on a monthly pass basis with the class cost £7 for members £9 for non-members. Please email victoria@vieyoga.co.uk to register for the class.

We are hoping to have our new cafe operating on a Saturday and Sunday at the Club very shortly which will provide another facility for members as well as another rental income. More details to follow on this exciting venture!

We have been trying to utilise our empty areas to provide additional income for the Club as well as add value to our members.

Face masks are now no longer mandatory around the Club anymore so it’s a personal choice for members and staff to wear them or not.

All our new outdoor court windbreaks have been fitted by our team of volunteers and many thanks to all involved. Fencing repairs have also been carried out and repairs to railings will be completed soon which will hopefully put a stop to non members gaining access to Club grounds.

Thanks also to Bruce for the various painting and cleaning jobs he has tirelessly completed around the Club.

The potholes in the car park will be attended to as part of the Padel development.

We now have new benches at the mini courts to enable parents to watch in comfort!

The tennis league matches start this week so good luck to all our competing teams for the season ahead. Look out for information about matches. The ladies have 2 teams in the premier division and play on a Tuesday night and the gents also have 2 teams in the premier and play on a Friday night. All our other teams will be in action most nights which means the outdoor courts will be busy over the next couple of months. Hopefully the weather will be kind and members can come down and watch some great tennis in the beer garden or from the Clubhouse!

Thanks to David Cuthill for repairing and cleaning our ice machine, much appreciated.
