Padel Box Leagues - New Rounds

Hi All,

New Round of Padel Box Leagues are out! I have listened to feedback from the last round and have made a couple of changes:

  • A reduced number of people in boxes (apart from the exeception of a couple) - therefore, each box will have 5 teams so each pair will have to play 4 matches!
  • You will now play a golden point at duece to speed up play and try to ensure the match is completed in a booking time slot. This means the recievers gets to choose which side of the court the server plays to (returners cannot swap sides) - all the info can be found here - www.simplepadel.com/gold-point-in-padel/
  • Finally, there will be 4 bonus points for a team that completes all their matches!

There has been a lot of swapping and changing in the boxes for this round, but I have based it on previous results. From now on, it will be 2 up, 2 down.

On a final note: as many of you have seen, the padel courts can be busy at times - therefore, my advice would be to plan ahead and start playing matches when you can and before the courts are all booked out!

For those new to the box leagues please see below all the information you need to log on, scoring, and point allocation:

Mycourts

Box leagues can be accessed through mycourts (where you make squash and tennis court bookings). Login -> Leagues -> Padel.

It is your responsibility to organise the matches and input the results.

Scoring

Best of 3 sets (at 1-all in sets, players should play a match tie break to 10.)
At 6-all in games, players should play to 7 tie-break.
Padel rules to be followed as per the LTA Padel website - https://www.lta.org.uk/play/ways-to-play/padel/rules/ (except the golden point rule)

Box Points Allocation

Submit your match result as follows:

2-0 win = 4-1
2-1 win = 3-2

Finally…

You have 6 weeks to complete your matches – deadline will be 24th November .

Enjoy… any questions then reach out to me!

Many thanks,

Matt
